A movement that raised thousands of pride flags in one of the most homophobic countries of the world using just an emoji 🏳️🌈
With the aim of ensuring the safety of the LGBTQIAPN+ community during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, we created a movement that came to life online, with the objective of encourage thousands of people to raise the flag of equality in protest against the country's LGBT-phobic laws.
The dynamics of participating in the Digital Pride Parade were very simple: people just needed to take photos or videos of the fans during the World Cup, replace the national flags with the rainbow flag emoji, and share them on social media using the hashtag #RainbowCup.
